Robee the Magnificent Magician and his Lovely assistant, Felix

So .... this is what the past three weeks have been leading up to ... the annual Presidents Elementary Variety Show.

Robee and Felix have been going to rehearsals for the past three weeks for this show. I'm glad it's over but I love watching my kids on stage. I loved being on stage and I miss it sometimes but I really love seeing them have a good time with the audience. They have no choice but to be hams with their parents being past thespians. We've told them that hundreds of times.

They did this show during a school assembly and then later that night for the parents. The first time, the trick went a little askew (and we chalked it up to being a dress rehearsal anyway) but the second time, it was flawless.

And yes, we actually rented a tuxedo for Robee to wear. Seriously, would you expect any different from us? Felix's costume came from Party City and is a "Bollywood" skirt and top but she rigged it so it looks like a dress. She's so clever!

I think the dove was slightly traumatized from the amount of testing we did at home. You see, they never actually rehearsed the tricks at rehearsal because what would be the point of the surprise?? All the kids would figure out the trick and then the secret would be out and a magician never reveals his/her secrets. Which is why Felix was his assistant so that the secret would stay safe in the family.

It was fun but tiring and right in the middle of our remodel of the rooms as well as trying to get ready for the appraisal .... which is tomorrow ...... which means I should be painting instead of blogging ...... which means I'm done here.

WOW! A budding David Copperfield!!! What fun and they both had such poise. I didn't know you were a Thespian...is that an actor who performs Shakespeare? I'll have to look it up...it's one of those words that I think I understand, but I'm not really sure. Of course, Bob has NO idea what a Thespian is, but I, at least, know it's related to acting. Congrats to Robee and Felix on their wonderful performance!
