Oh my heavens ... where did May go?

Ok. I have not had one minute to blog. This has been the busiest month I've ever seen.

I'll try to briefly go thru and update .... just for archival sake.

So .... Puppies born in April. Now they'll be 7 weeks old this Friday. Cripes. I've got ads going to find homes. I have only 2 left to find a home for: Fat Tony and Lolita. Tommy Boy is going to our TaeKwonDo instructor; Frankie Goes to Hollywood is going to Ben; and Gina Lollobrigida is going to Emilee in Utah.

We had our last tournament in Canada. The standings are Robee - 1st in Sparring. Thomas - 1st in Sparring. Felix - 2nd in Forms and Sparring. Me - 1st in Sparring, Weapons, Forms. So all in all, it wasn't a bad year.

May - my sister came up for her birthday to hang out. Lisa's daughter Heidi is going to have a baby in August and so she's decided to go back to Utah to live with her and help take care of the newborn. I'm sad and happy both. Even tho we don't see each other a lot, it was nice having another sibling in the Northwest - especially since I don't talk to any other siblings now.

Also Ben got married a couple of days ago. We had the pre-dinner at the house on Friday. I was my usual psycho-ness two weeks before the dinner. I DON'T do well with a lot of people coming over. I have to get past that but after 27 years of Lucile not letting people in the house, it's a hard habit to break. Anyway, we had a very good local Asian restaurant cater the food and rented tables and it turned out nice. We left the tables up in case it rained for the wedding the next day since it was an outside event, but the weather gods smiled upon us and it was good weather; good enough that little Evan even got a sun-kissed cheek!

In two weeks I leave to visit Utah for my mom's last surviving sister's anniversary party. I realize that going clear to Utah is ridiculous for a party but this is Mom's last sister. I just feel like I should go; don't know why. So Lisa and I are meeting in SLC on Thursday for the party and then Heidi has a baby shower on Friday so I'll be in town for that too.

I also get the opportunity to see my 7th grandbaby, Lyla, born to Emilee last week. That will be great as well.

Then, two weeks after coming home from Utah, I turn right around and head to Utah again (only this time with the whole family) to attend my 30th Ben Lomond High School Reunion. Talk about time flying; where in the hell did those 30 years go? I'm shocked. I was going to try to lose 40 pounds by the time that date came but ............ well, it ain't happening. I'll just have to be me.

So, there was a really quick blur through my life. That doesn't include my daily buzz that happens each week; feeding all the animals (now plus 5 puppies), watching babies two days a week, TRYING my damnedest to put in a garden if the freaking weather would cooperate. I did get a lovely tiller for Mother's Day which I hope to put to use.

I also got some new walking shoes that don't hurt my spine when I walk. I love getting really sensible presents.

I don't mind getting old. I don't mind being almost 48. Really. I don't mind that my hair resembles a Barred Rock hen. I don't mind (too much) that my chin looks terrible when I look down. What I DO mind is the pain that comes with age. The pains that start for no known reason and just hang on. I'm on my way to acupuncture again so hopefully, I can get this fixed. I will not be my mom.

Ok. I should get back to the kids. I took five minutes to write this but need to move on. Pics will follow.
